Youth Ambassadors
Are you a young person keen to get involved in local events, projects and opportunities? Do you like to be a leader amongst your friends and community? We would love to hear from you!
Canning’s Youth Ambassadors is an opportunity to participate and have your say on local events. The project is for young people to act as conduits for:
- local government information and updates
- sharing what they’ve learned with friends and communities
- shaping the future of Youth Services in Canning.
The program will run almost entirely on Instagram. By reaching young people where they seek information, it will make it easier for them to find out about things happening in their community.
Being a Youth Ambassador
Each month we’ll release a reel about local events, projects and fun things happening in Canning. A Youth Ambassadors job is to:
- watch the reel released monthly
- share or informally pass any relevant information on to your network – school, friends and family
- complete a survey answering questions about the information provided, the reel itself and more.
You’ll also have the option to contribute to the reels if you are inspired to!
Who can join the program?
The program is open to anybody:
- aged 16 to 25 (young people aged below 18 will need parental or guardian consent)
- who lives, studies, works, accesses services or participates in the City of Canning in other way
- who has an active Instagram profile
- passionate about positive change in the City of Canning.
How do I join?
If you are interested in joining, please complete the sign-up form and send to youth.services@canning.wa.gov.au.
Once the form is submitted, a City of Canning Youth Services Team member will contact you within 5 business days with the next steps.
