Disability Access and Inclusion Grant
The Disability Access and Inclusion grants are currently closed.
The Disability Access and Inclusion grant supports projects, programs, activities and the purchase of specialised disability equipment which enables equitable access, inclusion and participation of people with a disability in local community and sporting activities.
This grant category aligns to the City's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.
Information for applicants
- The maximum grant available is 10,000.
- The grant has two funding rounds:
- Round One – closes 19 August 2024
- Round Two – closes 4 March 2025
- Open to incorporated community organisations, sporting clubs and schools.
- 50% in-kind or cash contribution required (i.e. to receive a grant of $10,000, the applicant must demonstrate a contribution of $5,000 or more towards the activity).
- Applicants will be notified approximately six weeks after the closing date. Please ensure your activity timeline takes this into account.
- Applicants can apply for this grant once in 2024/2025.
The grant supports either of the following:
- Standalone activities which meet the grant objectives.
- A complementary grant which will provide additional support to make an activity more inclusive. This may be awarded in addition to any other City of Canning grant and should be applied for at the same time and on the same application form. For example, an Welcoming and Thriving Canning grant requests grant support towards a NAIDOC activity along with the inclusion of costs for a sign language interpreter to be present.
