Activity Centre and Structure Plans
Activity Centre and Structure Plans
Activity Centre, Local Structure, and Local Development plans indicate broad land use options for the development and subdivision of land.
Activity centres are vibrant hubs where people shop, work, meet, relax and live. These areas are usually well-served by public transport, and they range in size from local neighbourhood strip shopping centres to universities and major regional shopping malls.
Activity centre plans define places which vary in scale, composition and character and include a combination of activities such as:
- offices
- retail
- higher-density housing
- entertainment
- education
- medical services.
These plans are applied in addition to the requirements of the Local Planning Scheme.
