City of Canning invites community to move for a better world
The City of Canning is proud to support Technogym’s global Let’s Move for a Better World 2026 campaign, encouraging the community to turn everyday movement into meaningful social impact.
Running from 9 to 27 March 2026, the initiative transforms physical activity into support for children in need through the Let’s Move & Donate Food program. This year, Technogym has partnered with the UN World Food Programme with a goal of helping deliver 1,000,000 school meals globally.
For every 2,000 MOVEs collected through the Technogym app, one school meal is symbolically donated to a child in need. Whether it’s a gym session, group fitness class, run, ride or walk, every MOVE contributes to the global target.
Mayor Patrick Hall said the campaign highlights how local action can create international impact.
“Let’s Move for a Better World shows that something as simple as staying active can have a powerful ripple effect,” Mayor Hall said.
“Our community is not only investing in their own health and wellbeing, but also supporting children and families who need it most. It’s a reminder that when we move together, we can make a genuine difference.”
Members at Cannington and Riverton Leisureplex are invited to register for the challenge through the Technogym platform and start collecting MOVEs throughout the campaign period. In addition to contributing to the global cause, participants will have the opportunity to take part in centre challenges, track their progress on live leaderboards, and go in the running for prizes.
The campaign connects more than 1,000 facilities worldwide and is recognised as the largest social movement in the fitness industry.
“This is more than a fitness challenge,” Mayor Hall said.
“It is a movement for change driven by community participation, solidarity and the belief that collective action matters.”
Community members can learn more or register by visiting their local Leisureplex or downloading the Technogym app.
