Get involved – Environmental Volunteer Groups

There are many enthusiastic community groups in Canning helping to restore and protect the natural environment.

The City supports a wide range of environmental volunteer groups with a long history of conservation activities within the area. Conservation activities carried out by these groups include:

  • weed control
  • revegetation
  • restoration
  • community education
  • plant propagation
  • seed collection
  • bird surveying
  • plant watering.

These groups work in their own time and at their own pace. They choose the activities undertaken based on needs, expertise, abilities, time, resources and conservation objectives.
