Small Grants

The Small Grant supports projects, programs, events and the purchase of equipment that benefit the Canning community and aligns with the City's Strategic Community Plan 2021-2031.

Any equipment purchased must be available for all members and must not be for personal use.

Information for applicants

• The maximum grant available is $500.
• Small grants applications for the 2025/26 financial year are currently open. Applications received after 5 June 2026 will be considered as part of the 2026/27 financial year, with payments commencing from July 2026.
• Open to individuals, unincorporated and incorporated community organisations, sporting clubs and schools*. (*see schools eligibility in the Community Grant Program Guidelines, page four).
• Applicants are eligible to receive one grant, per grant category, per financial year. 
• Applications must be submitted at least four weeks before an event or activity is due to take place.
• Only one small grant will be awarded per project, program, event and the purchase of equipment. In other words, multiple people or organisations cannot apply for separate grants to contribute to the same thing. 
• Grants will be allocated until grant funding is exhausted.
