Local Laws
Local laws specific to the City of Canning deal with a wide range of community, environmental and governance matters.
Local laws are introduced and enforced by Council, and reflect the needs and concerns particular to our City and its residents.
Acts, Regulations and Standards
Local governments have power under the Local Government Act 1995 (Act) and certain other written laws to make local laws. Local laws assist local governments to manage those matters which are required or permitted for local laws to cover, or are necessary or convenient to enable local governments to perform their functions under the Act. Acts, Regulations or other legislation referred to in a Local Law can be viewed during business hours at the City of Canning Administration Centre, or on the State Law Publisher website.
Standards referred to in a Local Law can be viewed during business hours at the City of Canning Administration Centre, or on the Standards Australia website.
