Tutoring at City of Canning Libraries

The City of Canning is introducing a six-month trial for private tutoring at Riverton, Willetton and Cannington Libraries from 12 October 2026.

The trial is designed to support tutoring activities while ensuring study spaces, seating and facilities remain accessible for all library users during busy periods. As part of the trial, designated tutoring areas will operate at specified times.

Tutors are welcome to use library spaces outside of these designated times and may use any available table in accordance with normal library conditions of use.

All tutors and students using City of Canning Libraries for tutoring sessions must comply with the Library Tutoring Agreement, including requirements relating to location, noise levels, behaviour and the respectful use of shared library spaces.

Designated Area Tutoring Times

During the following times, tutoring sessions must take place in the designated tutoring areas:

• Libraries open 9am to 7pm on weekdays: designated tutoring areas operate from 3pm to 7pm.
• Libraries open 9am to 5pm on weekdays: designated tutoring areas operate from 3pm to 5pm.
• Saturdays and Sundays: designated tutoring areas operate during all library opening hours.

Outside these designated times, tutors may use any available table or study space within the library.

Please ensure tutoring sessions conclude with sufficient time to pack up and leave the library before closing time.
